Risky Business Incident Management LLC

2013 was a busy year for RBIM LLC.  The following courses and projects were completed in 2013:

January - DHS/FEMA All Hazard Division/Group Supervisor Course; Environmental Restoration LLC, Bloomfield, Ct

February- DHS/FEMA All Hazard Incident Commander Course; Pennsylvania Bureau of Forestry, Altoona, Pa

January-June- Researched and authored a landscape scale 3 year Prescribed Burn Plan for a private Foundation in Manhassett NY in Nassau County Long Island.  Plan was approved by NY DEC in June 2013.  Anticipating implementation in Spring 2014.

April- ICS Mentor to Nassau County NY IMT3 in training; NY Wildfire & Incident Management Academy, Spring Prescribed Fire Session, Upton, NY

May- Instructed I300 course for NY Office of Emergency Management in Kingston NY.

June- Instructed I300 course for NY Office of Emergency Management in Westchester County NY

July-  Instructed two 2 day Wildland Firefighter Refresher Courses for Quantico Fire & Emergency Serices(Base Fire/Rescue) at the Quantico Marine Base, Quantico, Va.

August- Instructed two 4 day S215 Fire Operations in the Wildland/Urban Interface for Quantico Fire & Emergency Services(Base Fire/Rescue) at the Quantico Marine Base.

October-in early October Instucted I400 course for NYOEM at the New York City Office of Emergency Management in Brooklyn NY.

-In late October at the annual New York Wildfire & Incident Management Academy (NYWIMA in Suffolk County NY) instructed the DHS/FEMA All Hazard Operations Section Chief Course, assisted as an evaluator/coach on DHS/FEMA L305 Command & General Staff Course and also spent five days mentoring trainees on the Incident Management Team Command & General Staff who were managing the Academy.

November- Instructed S215 Fire Operations in the Wildland/Urban Interface to the Virgin Islands Fire Service in St. Thomas, USVI.  Was subcontracted by NYWIMA to teach this session.

December -Instructed ICS 300 Course at Assateague National Seashore, Berlin, Md. Also held an additional one day workshop with the Park staff to update their Coastal Storm Plan. Was subcontracted for this by NYWIMA.

WHAT's NEXT???

The next training course for RBIM LLC will be an ICS 300 course being done for Trumbull, Ct. Fire Department in Feb 2014.  The course will be held on Feb 9, 22 & 23 at the Long Hill Fire Department, one of the all volunteer Fire Departments that serves the Trumbull community.

The next course after that  is an ICS300 course being done for NY State Office of Emergency Management at Stony Brook Hospital in Long Island Feb 25-27, 2014.
